The men’s volleyball team dropped a pair of road games in Ottawa over the weekend.
The team fell in straight sets to both the Algonquin Thunder Friday night and the La Cite Coyotes on Saturday.
The Lancers kept the first two sets close, battling to 25-23 and 25-21 decisions before falling 25-19 in the third to finish the game. Out-sized by the Thunder, the Lancers struggled offensively and only managed to record 27 kills in the game – 9 of which game from veteran Lancer Joe Bresee who also added 1 block and 1 ace.
The Lancers looked to rebound on day 2 of their road trip and while their offense was more effective, their defense was no match for the Coyotes. Going down 25-11, 27-25 & 25-19, the Lancers succumbed to their 7th loss of the season.
The Lancers will finish off the first half of their season Friday when they take on the Fleming Knights in Peterborough.
