After a tumultuous first half plagued by offensive struggles, the Lancers looked to be gaining steam heading into their final match. The Lancers hold a record of 4-6 after the first half with wins over Fleming, Canadore, Algonquin & La Cite.
First year Lancer Angelo Sarsonas has been a key component to the team from day 1. A natural leader on and off the court, Sarsonas’ priority always lies with the betterment of the team. Despite his size, he plays bigger than most and with passion and discipline that is second to none. Offensively, Sarsonas leads his team in scoring with 114 points on the season. While he’s often out-sized, Sarsonas’s impressive knowledge of the game gives him the edge and allows him to find a way to score for his team.
Sarsonas’ teammate & 3rd year veteran Chris Asomani is having his best year yet. With 3 double doubles on the season already, Asomani’s hard work and dedication in the off season is evident every time he steps on the court. A leader in his own right, his composed & quiet nature keeps him focused in crucial situations. Asomani has recorded 90 rebounds and 98 points on the season and is on track to be a dominating force in the second half.
After a break for the month of December, the Lancers get back to games in January when they host the Centennial Colts.
