Coming off a big 5 set win over the Algonquin Thunder, the Lancers took down the La Cite Coyotes 3-1
With tough serving and strong blocking, the Lancers held off the Coyotes through both the first two sets, securing the lead with 25- 21 wins in both.
The home team got a little too comfortable with their lead and the Lancers faltered in the third, allowing the Coyotes to take the lead and avoid the 3 set sweep.
Heading into the fourth set, the Lancers got back onto the game plan and battled it out to a 25-23 victory to take the game and complete the weekend sweep.
Tough serves and smart attacks were a key for the Lancers, but it was their improved blocking that really made the difference. Dylan Hayes put up 5 stuff blocks in the game while Josh Roberts contributed two of his own.
Hayes lead the team in kills and points for the game with 11 kills, 5 blocks and an ace for 17 total points followed closely Roberts who had 15 (10 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks). Joe Bresee and Kyle Coolen also had big nights for the Lancers, putting up a combined 15 points.
The Lancers get back in action Saturday February 10th when they host the Durham Lords at 3pm.
