The men’s volleyball team proved once again that they’re able to compete with some of the biggest teams in the league.

After dropping the first set 25-12, the Lancers came roaring back with a 25-20 win to even the match at one. Alex Cox went on a roll in the third set, making smart shots and working the Lords’ block to help push the Lancers to another 25-20 win to go up 2-1.

The Lancers got off to a slow start in the fourth, forcing the Lancers to battle and and eventually tie the game at 20. Falling victim to Lords’ tough serves, the Lancers weren’t able to bring the ball back to create an attack, giving the Lords the edge they needed to win the set and force a fifth.

The Lords used the momentum to their benefit and downed the Lancers 15-9 to take the set 3-2.

Cox lead the Lancers in scoring with 10 kills, and 2 aces for 12 points while middle blocker Dylan Hayes contribued an impressive 7 blocks.

The Lancers play their final game on Wednesday February 14th at home when they take on the Centennial Colts.
