Hannah Dossett of the women’s volleyball team has been named Female Athlete of the Week for the Lancers after a season high performance in the team’s playoff game on Saturday.

The 1st place Lancers took on the 7th place Cambrian Golden Shield in a winner takes off playoff game to earn a spot at the upcoming Provincial Championships hosted by Centennial Colts.  Dossett turned in her top performance of the year with 10 kills on 17 attempts with no hitting errors and added 3 aces to help lead the way to a 3-0 victory.

With the win, Dossett & her team head into the first round of the Championships with a 16-2 regular season record and are set to face off against the Sheridan Bruins on Thursday Feb. 22.

Men’s basketball’s Noah Korovesi’s put up 14 points and secured 5 rebounds in his team’s tough 80-75 loss to the 1st place Seneca Sting.

Korovesi contributed to the game in every way – he made great passes, hit big shots, grabbed rebounds and used his knack for making big plays on defense to power his team through when they needed it.

Turning in one of his best performances of the year, the 6’3 forward couldn’t have timed it better than to do so against the #1 team in the country. His passion for the game was evident in all 38 minutes he played. He competed tirelessly and was thrilling to watch. Korovesi’s pure athleticism and multidimensional talent helped the Lancers hang in tough against a top level team.
