ICYMI: A Big Week for the Lancers Across the Court
In case you missed it, here's everything that happened with the Lancer indoor teams last week.
It was an action‑packed stretch for Loyalist Athletics, with all four indoor teams hitting the court and delivering exciting moments. Here's everything you might have missed from an eventful week with the Lancers
Women's Basketball Remains Undefeated
The unstoppable run continues. The Lancers women's basketball team extended their flawless season to 11–0, picking up wins over Centennial and George Brown. Their consistent team play, composed execution, and interior dominance kept them in firm control of the East Division.
Kayley Lemaire continued her outstanding season, combining physicality and efficiency in both wins. Grace Callahan delivered another strong two‑way week, contributing on the glass, finishing around the rim, and anchoring the defense. Loyalist's depth and pressure defense helped them pull away late in both matchups, showing once again why they're one of the toughest teams in the province.
The push toward a perfect regular season remains alive—with momentum building every game.
Back‑to‑Back Wins Spark Mid‑Season Push for the Men's Basketball Team
The Lancers picked up two straight victories last week, defeating Centennial and George Brown, to improve to 6–7 on the season. After battling through close games earlier in the semester, the group is finding its rhythm at the right time.
Romain McCalla stayed dominant, delivering another week of high‑impact scoring and leadership on the offensive end while Jalen Carter Julien continued as a strong, steady force for his team. Strong guard play, improved defensive focus, and timely shooting helped Loyalist close out both contests. Multiple players stepped up off the bench, giving the Lancers the depth they've been seeking all season. With confidence building and chemistry growing, the Lancers are trending up at exactly the right moment.
Split Results Move Men's Volleyball to 6–6
It was a mixed week for the men's volleyball team, who earned a solid 3-0 win over St. Lawrence Surge before dropping a tough five‑set battle to Canadore.
After falling in the first set against Canadore, the Lancers battled back to win the next 2. Unable to finish the game in the fourth, the Lancers fell behind in the 5th and the Panthers took the game 3-2. At 6–6, the team remains right in the playoff hunt with key matchups ahead.
Women's Volleyball: Battling Through the Mid‑Season Grind
The women's volleyball team faced a difficult stretch, falling in two matches to move to 2–10 on the season. Despite the results, the team battled hard and fought to the very end of each game. The team continues to embrace the grind and build toward stronger performances in the final push.
