The Loyalist Lancers women's volleyball team hit the road for a challenging doubleheader against two strong OCAA opponents, Algonquin Wolves and La Cité Coyotes. Despite battling hard in both matches, the Lancers came up short, dropping both contests in straight sets.
The Lancers opened the weekend at Algonquin, where the Wolves controlled the match from start to finish, winning 25–12, 25–19, 25–16. Despite the Lancer offense struggling to find rhythm, Charles Cudmore led the attack with 10 kills, while Kaitlin Burn added 4 kills. Setter Jamie Routledge contributed 9 assists and 6 digs, and the team showed resilience in a competitive second set.
The Lancers returned to the court against La Cité and showed improvement, but fell 25–19, 25–19, 25–18. Cudmore again paced the offense with 12 kills, while Isabella Baker chipped in 2 kills and 2 aces. Routledge directed the attack with 11 assists, and Amber Verbruggen added a service ace and two blocks. Despite strong defensive efforts, Loyalist couldn't overcome La Cité's efficient hitting and aggressive serving.
The Lancers will look to regroup o Friday, November 14th when they hit the road again for a matchup against the Fleming Phoenix.
