Lancers Add Charley Ferris to Women’s Volleyball Program
June 11, 2026
The Loyalist College Lancers women's volleyball program is excited to announce the signing of Charley Ferris for the upcoming season, with Head Coach Jesse Dykxhoorn and the team thrilled to welcome her to the team.
Ferris, a 5'10" left side/middle from Waterford, Ontario, joins the Lancers following her career at Waterford District High School and with Norfolk Chaos Volleyball Club. During her career, she has developed into a versatile and impactful front-row presence, combining length, athleticism, and a strong team-first mentality.
Most recently, Ferris competed with Norfolk Chaos Rush, where her season concluded at the Ontario Provincial Championships in April. The campaign stood out not only for on-court success but also for team chemistry, as the group built strong connections and delivered consistent performances throughout the year.
Ferris has competed at a high level within the club system and has earned recognition for both her performance and character. Her accolades include the Norfolk Chaos Spirit Award, an OVA Award of Excellence at the Chaos Rumble (17–18U), and two high school MVP honours, highlighting her leadership and impact across multiple environments.
Her decision to join Loyalist was driven by the college's supportive atmosphere and sense of community, where student-athletes are encouraged to succeed both academically and athletically. Ferris will be enrolled in the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant program, aligning her studies with her passion for helping others.
Away from the court, Ferris is passionate about volunteering, coaching younger athletes, and working with the elderly, reflecting a strong commitment to community involvement. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, snowmobiling, and going to the beach.
With her height, versatility, and positive approach to the game, Ferris adds another key piece to the Lancers roster as the program continues to build toward the upcoming season. The coaching staff looks forward to her development and contributions as she proudly represents the Lancers in the fall.
